Backend Engineer

Safebooks is seeking a talented Backend Engineer with deep expertise in server-side development and a passion for building scalable, high-performance systems and services. In this role, you will design and maintain robust data analysis and reporting services that serve as the backbone for our innovative data governance platform, ensuring seamless monitoring and reliability of entire customer financial data.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend systems using Python to support data processing and governance.

• Architect, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS)

• Collaborate with full-stack teams to integrate backend services into the platform seamlessly.

• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, and reliability

• Maintain code quality and organization through best practices and thorough code reviews.

• Contribute to Agile development processes and support continuous integration/deployment pipelines.

• Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

• 5+ years of software development experience, focusing on backend systems

• Proven experience with AWS infrastructure, including EC2, S3, and RDS

• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases

• Familiarity with serverless architectures, microservices, and cloud-native application design.

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, TDD, and continuous integration practices

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
