About the Role

V is a global Connected TV operating system, powering millions of devices worldwide across media, advertising, and app distribution businesses. We are seeking a Legal Counsel (3–5 years’ post-qualification experience) to join our in-house legal team, supporting our fast-growing Connected TV operating system and associated media, advertising, and app distribution businesses.

You will serve as a commercially focused media and broadcasting counsel, supporting app and content distribution, OEM partnerships, advertising and streaming services, ad-tech transactions, and channel- or content-related commercial work.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a legal point of contact for the Business Development team, independently leading and negotiating commercial transactions to ensure deal terms are accurately reflected in agreements.

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including content and distribution agreements, channel and app distribution deals, advertising and sponsorship contracts, supply- and demand-side ad tech agreements, content licensing deals (including output deals, territorial rights, co-productions, and distribution windows), OEM agreements, and NDAs.

• Partner with Business Development, Product, and other internal stakeholders as a trusted legal business partner, helping achieve commercial goals while managing legal risk.

• Independently assess legal risk across commercial transactions and escalate where appropriate, exercising sound legal judgment.

• Develop and maintain templates, playbooks, internal guidance materials, and support CLM processes.

• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments in media, broadcasting, digital advertising, and platform services, and support implementation of necessary changes.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 3–5 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally gained at a top-tier law firm and/or in-house in a media or technology company.

• Solid experience in commercial contracts, with demonstrated exposure to content licensing, channel distribution, advertising, or broader media and broadcasting agreements.

• Experience working with OEMs, international broadcasters, content providers, studios, or media companies, including cross-border negotiations.

• Familiarity with content licensing deal structures, including output deals, territorial rights, co-productions, and distribution windows.

• Solid background in IP, media, and commercial law; familiarity with data privacy issues arising in commercial transactions is an advantage.

• Experience managing complex or multi-jurisdictional matters.

• LL.B. or equivalent legal degree; licensed to practice law and in good standing in any jurisdiction.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong commercial drafting, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills, with high attention to detail.

• Pragmatic and flexible approach, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly and practically.

• Ability to work cross-functionally in a global business environment, across cultures and time zones.

• Commercial mindset and business partner attitude, focused on enabling the business while managing risk.

Self-starter who can work independently while contributing to a close-knit team, managing multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
