Regulus is an agile defense-tech startup tackling the most complex challenges in counter-drone and unscrewed defense. With hundreds of combat-proven systems deployed by the IDF and global partners, we are now engineering the next generation of C-UxS (Counter-Uncrewed Systems). We leverage advanced electronic warfare and kinetic measures to detect and neutralize hostile threats. If you want to push technological boundaries while safeguarding Israel and our allies, join us at this pivotal stage of our growth.

This is a unique opportunity to join a company at a pivotal growth stage and help shape its products, culture, and future.

We are looking for a passionate and curious Junior Drone Researcher to join our specialized Counter-UAS research unit. If you live and breathe drone technology, love tinkering with flight controllers, and are fascinated by how drones communicate and navigate, this is the role for you.

Working closely under the guidance of a Tech Lead, you will build custom drones, run field tests, and study the inner workings of drone communication protocols and GNSS systems. Your hands-on work will directly support our Electronic Warfare (EW) R&D team by providing them with the raw data, open-source intelligence, and insights they need to detect, jam, and spoof rogue drones.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drone Assembly & Configuration: Build, wire, configure, and maintain non-standard, custom, and off-the-shelf drones for research purposes.

    • Lab & Field Studies: Actively participate in indoor lab experiments and outdoor flight tests to gather data on drone signals, telemetry, and navigation behaviors.

    • Technology Deep-Dive: Assist the Tech Lead in studying various communication protocols, radio links, and flight controller configurations (bypassing the mechanical/aerodynamic side).

    • Intelligence Gathering: Scour the internet, maker forums, GitHub repositories, and open-source intelligence for new drone trends, DIY modifications, and emerging evasion technologies.

    • Report Generation: Help compile testing data and online research into structured reports. Provide solid evidence, links, and sources for the EW R&D team to use in threat analysis.

    • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with your team lead to update a priority-based drone threat list and share actionable findings with internal engineers.

    Requirements

    • Experience Over Degrees: No formal academic degree is required. A genuine passion for and practical experience with building, flying, or modifying drones is mandatory.

    • Technical Familiarity: Hands-on experience with drone electronics—specifically configuring flight controllers, soldering components, and setting up receiver/transmitter links (e.g., UARTs, baud rates, binding protocols).

    • Curiosity & Problem Solving: A "hacker" mindset with the desire to understand how things work under the hood, especially concerning RF communication and GPS navigation.

    • Attention to Detail: Ability to meticulously document your builds, test results, and the sources of your online research.

    • Team Player: Ready to learn, follow the direction of the Tech Lead, and enthusiastically contribute to the team’s overall research goals.
