Broker

The Broker is responsible for mediating and executing transactions on behalf of clients in the financial markets (e.g., equities, bonds, FX, derivatives, commodities), while providing professional service, protecting the client's interests, and operating in full compliance with regulation. The role combines client-facing work with desk-based work using trading platforms and interacting with financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

Manage ongoing relationships with a portfolio of clients (retail, corporate, or institutional, depending on the desk).

Execute buy/sell orders in line with client instructions, market conditions, and company policies.

Monitor market developments, news, and trends across relevant asset classes.

Provide clients with information, explanations, and basic guidance (in line with licenses and regulatory boundaries).

Interface with trading floors, banks, external brokers, and other financial counterparties.

Ensure full adherence to compliance, regulatory, and reporting requirements.

Accurately record all orders and trades in the firm's systems.

Identify additional client needs and support upsell / cross-sell opportunities in coordination with the sales/commercial teams.

Requirements

Relevant academic background - Economics, Finance, Business Administration or related field (an advantage).

Previous experience as a broker / dealing room representative / trading or similar role - strong advantage.

Solid understanding of financial markets, instruments, and trading concepts.

Ability to work under pressure and make quick, informed decisions.

Strong service orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

High level of English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage, especially for international desks.

Relevant licenses/certifications as required by local regulation (e.g., investment advice / portfolio management / brokerage license), depending on the scope and type of activity.
