Proofreader – English to Hebrew-freelance

About the role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Proofreader with strong bilingual skills in English and Hebrew to join our localization team. Your main responsibility will be to review translated scripts and subtitles to ensure linguistic accuracy, fluency, and cultural relevance. You will work closely with translators, editors, and project managers to deliver polished, natural, and high-quality content that meets our standards for localized media.

Responsibilities:

• Review and proofread Hebrew translations of English content for accuracy, style, and tone.

• Ensure terminology, phrasing, and meaning are consistent with the source text.

• Identify and correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting issues.

• Verify cultural and linguistic appropriateness for the target audience.

• Collaborate with translators and localization teams to maintain quality and consistency across projects.

• Provide clear feedback and suggestions for improvements when needed.

Requirements:

• Native-level Hebrew and excellent English reading comprehension.

• Strong command of grammar, punctuation, and stylistic conventions in both languages.

• Experience in translation, proofreading, or localization (media or entertainment a plus).

• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with subtitles, dubbing scripts, or localization workflows is an advantage.

• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote teams.
