We focus on empowering middle and high school students by providing meaningful volunteer opportunities to engage in AI ethics education and advocacy.
Role Description
This is a globally remote volunteer role for a Founding Chapter Lead at EthicWise AI. In this position, you will establish and lead a chapter in your local country or city to promote the organization’s mission. Responsibilities include organizing workshops and events to educate the community about AI ethics, leading and mentoring student volunteers, planning community engagement initiatives, and collaborating with the EthicWise AI leadership team to align local activities with organizational goals.
Location, Communication & Time Zone
• Open Worldwide: We welcome applicants from any country outside the United States.
• Asynchronous First: The majority of our communication is asynchronous via Slack and email, meaning you can work on your own schedule with minimal required live meetings.
• Flexible Syncs: For the few live meetings we do schedule, we will coordinate flexibly across global time zones to find a time that works for everyone.
• Local Impact: Chapter activities will take place entirely within your own local community and time zone.
Qualifications
• Strong leadership, organizational, and community-building skills
• Interest or background in AI ethics, technology, social impact, or education
• Experience in event planning, public speaking, or community outreach
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and coordinate a team remotely
• Passion for promoting equity, ethical standards, and responsible technology practices
• Experience working with middle and high school students is a plus
Eligibility
• Applicants must be 16 years or older to apply independently.
• Applicants under 16 are welcome to apply only if a parent or guardian is willing to volunteer alongside them and support chapter activities.
• Applicants from all countries and geographic backgrounds may be students, educators, parents, or other community members who are passionate about ethical AI and youth education.
