The Director of Procurement is responsible for designing, leading, and executing the company’s global procurement strategy. This role ensures reliable supply, cost optimization, regulatory compliance, and strong vendor partnerships while supporting operational, quality, and growth objectives in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
Key responsibilities
• Strategic Procurement Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy stemmed from the corporate and operational goals.
• Supplier & Vendor Management: Establish and manage supplier qualification and performance frameworks; Lead supplier evaluations, audits, and risk assessments in coordination with QA; Negotiate commercial agreements, MSAs, and long-term supply contracts; Build strong strategic partnerships with key suppliers and CMOs.
• Regulatory & Quality Compliance: Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, FDA, EMA, and ICH standards.
• Financial & Commercial Management: Own procurement budgets and cost optimization initiatives, forecasting, and spend analytics.
• Systems, Processes & Governance: Own procurement-related systems (ERP, P2P) and drive process improvement.
• Risk Management & Business Continuity: Develop mitigation plans and dual sourcing strategies.
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team (including a manager and three employees).
Minimum qualification and requirements
• Professional Qualifications: Academic degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Legal, Supply Chain or related fields; Master’s degree or other qualifications in Procurement (CPSM/CPM/CSPAI) an advantage
• Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a Director of Procurement in an industrial commercial entity, preferably in the biotech and/pr pharmaceutical industry; proven experience in development and implementation of procurement strategies and oversight over cross-company projects
• Language: Bilingual proficiency in English
• The position requires availability in the Company’s offices in Rehovot and its manufacturing facility in Beit Kama; The work week includes one offsite day
