The Role:

We’re looking for a hands-on, delivery-focused Team Lead to build and lead a high-performing team of backend engineers working on large-scale, real-time data systems.

The team is responsible for the company's core real-time data platform, which ingests telemetry from thousands of enterprise customers and millions of devices. Using technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, ClickHouse, and other modern data technologies, the platform processes massive volumes of data in real time and transforms it into reliable, scalable, and queryable information that powers multiple products across the company.

As a Team Lead, you’ll combine technical leadership with people management-guiding the team’s architecture, driving execution, mentoring engineers, and fostering engineering excellence while remaining hands-on when needed.

You’ll join a growing R&D organization with exceptional engineering talent, high technical standards, and strong leadership support. What You’ll Own:

• Team Leadership: guide and mentor a team of backend engineers, driving accountability, ownership, and technical growth, while managing delivery timelines with predictability and transparency

• Planning & Execution: Own the planning process end-to-end - scoping, design, dependency management, risk identification, and sprint execution

• Technical Excellence: own high-level and detailed designs, ensure thorough design and PR reviews, and enforce coding, testing, and observability best practices

• Cross-Team Collaboration: align with PMs, infra, and other teams on requirements, UI standards, and integration contracts to build scalable platform features

• Quality & Ownership: ensure every delivery is tested, documented, and production-ready, including E2E testing and rollout readiness

What You’ll Bring:

• 3+ Years experience as a team lead or senior engineer with leadership responsibilities

• Hands-on experience with data stream processing technologies (e.g., Spark, Flink, Kafka Streams), analytical NoSQL data stores, and messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ

• 6+ years experience as a backend developer working on high scale real time data pipelines with modern streaming technologies

• Proven experience in building systems involving data pipelines, APIs, and web applications

• Experience with agile methodologies and hands-on involvement in planning and delivery

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-product R&D organization

• Experience working with Java

• Experience in modeling of analytical databases- big advantage

• Experience building shared infrastructure or platform-level components - an advantage
