• High Availability & DR: Design, implement, and maintain robust HA/DR solutions, including AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances (FCI), Log Shipping, and replication.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor system health and performance. Troubleshoot complex database bottlenecks, optimize indexing, and tune T-SQL queries and execution plans.
• Backup & Recovery: Develop, test, and manage comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies to guarantee zero data loss for critical defense applications.
• Security & Hardening: Enforce strict security policies, implement database encryption (TDE), manage access control, and perform regular security audits in compliance with defense standards.
• Automation: Write and maintain advanced PowerShell and T-SQL scripts to automate routine administrative tasks, monitoring, and deployments.
• Collaboration: Partner with system administrators, storage teams, and software developers to align database infrastructure with system requirements.
Job Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications:
• Education: B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical field – Mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Infrastructure SQL Server DBA in production environments.
• Core Technical Skills: Deep understanding of SQL Server database engine architecture, memory management, and storage engine internals.
• HA/DR Expertise: Hands-on experience building and managing SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
• Scripting: Strong proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Environment: Extensive experience working with Windows Server and physical/virtualized (VMware) environments.
