Senior Backend Engineer

A global technology company is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer – Real-Time Data & Distributed Systems to join its core R&D team and take part in building the backend infrastructure behind a data-intensive platform used by enterprise customers worldwide.

This role sits at the heart of the product: transforming massive amounts of real-time data into reliable, accurate, and actionable information.

You will work on complex backend challenges involving large-scale data processing, distributed systems, system reliability, and continuous evolution of the architecture.

The platform is currently undergoing a significant transformation — moving from a legacy monolithic architecture toward a modern microservices-based environment.

This is an opportunity to influence architectural decisions, build critical services from the ground up, and solve challenging engineering problems at scale.

What You'll Do:

• Design and build backend services that process large volumes of real-time data

• Own backend components end-to-end, from technical design and architecture through implementation and production

• Develop reliable, scalable services in a complex distributed environment

• Participate in architectural decisions and drive improvements in system performance, stability, and scalability

• Solve challenging engineering problems around data flow, processing, and system reliability

• Collaborate with experienced engineers across R&D and contribute to a strong engineering culture

• Share knowledge and help improve engineering practices across the team

Requirements:

• 6+ years of hands-on backend development experience

• Strong experience building production backend systems

• Hands-on experience with C#/.NET is preferred, but we are open to strong backend engineers from Java or C++ environments who demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to quickly ramp up on C#/.NET

• Experience designing scalable distributed systems

• Experience with microservices architectures

• Strong understanding of software design, system architecture, algorithms, and data structures

• Experience working with cloud environments (Azure advantage)

• Experience with event-driven systems and messaging infrastructure is an advantage

• Ability to take ownership, think independently, and solve complex technical problems

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with large-scale data platforms

• Experience with AI development tools

• Startup or high-growth environment experience
