ISP/MPLS Core Network Engineer

A leading telecommunications company is looking for an experienced Core Network Engineer to manage, operate, and develop its internet core network infrastructure in Israel and abroad. The role includes responsibility for mission-critical network environments, implementation of IP/MPLS services, resolution of complex network incidents, and design of communication solutions for strategic customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, operate, and maintain the company's core network switches and routers in Israel and abroad.

• Manage networking products, network infrastructure, and Network Security solutions.

• Plan, implement, and launch IP/MPLS projects and services across the company's network.

• Take responsibility for the full lifecycle of network projects, from architecture and planning through implementation and production deployment.

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex system-level incidents within the core network.

• Perform ongoing maintenance, upgrades, configuration changes, and network optimization.

• Design and support advanced network solutions for strategic customers.

• Collaborate with internal teams, equipment vendors, technology partners, and professional stakeholders in Israel and abroad.

• Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to critical network incidents when required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in data communications within large-scale and complex network environments, required.

• Hands-on experience with Juniper, Cisco, and Fortinet networking and security equipment, required.

• In-depth knowledge of internet infrastructure and protocols, including DNS, PPPoE, L2TP, MP-BGP, and IS-IS Segment Routing.

• Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting Core Network environments.

• Strong ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and work effectively with vendors, manufacturers, technical teams, and customers.

• Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and resolve complex technical issues.

• Valid driver's license and availability for an on-call rotation, including weekends.

Significant Advantages

• Professional experience with an Internet Service Provider or telecommunications provider, particularly in ISP and MPLS environments.

• Experience with network automation and DevNet tools, including Python and Ansible.

• CCIE or JNCIE certification.

• Experience designing and implementing network solutions for enterprise or strategic customers.
