A leading global technology company is looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join its Fraud Prevention team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a data engineer with 1–2 years of experience to work with modern cloud technologies, big data platforms, and analytics solutions while collaborating with experienced engineers, data scientists, analysts, and product teams. You'll play an important role in building scalable data solutions that help prevent financial fraud and support data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
• Gather and analyze data requirements from internal stakeholders and translate business needs into scalable data solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain databases, data models, and analytics datasets.
• Build, maintain, and optimize batch and real-time ETL/data pipelines.
• Support data quality, monitoring, and operational reliability of data assets.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Analysts, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews while learning engineering best practices.
• Assist in improving data architecture and analytics solutions.
• Support data exploration and help troubleshoot data-related issues.
• Contribute to initiatives focused on reducing financial fraud and improving business insights.
Requirements
• 1–2 years of experience as a Data Engineer, Data Analyst, BI Developer, or in a similar data-focused role.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
• Experience developing ETL processes or data pipelines.
• Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
• Familiarity with Spark or other big data technologies.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and database design.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, EMR, EC2, or similar).
• Familiarity with Linux and basic Shell scripting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills in both Hebrew and English.
Nice to Have
• Experience with Databricks, Redshift, Athena, Trino, or Presto.
