Role Description
This is a full-time opportunity based in Haifa for MSc or PhD candidates. The role involves conducting advanced research in the Brain Metabolism lab at the Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine under the direction of Prof. Herman Wolosker (website: https://wolosker.net.technion.ac.il/). We have exciting new projects related to brain function, metabolism, and the blood-brain barrier. Our lab produces new genetically engineered models (new mouse knockouts) and conducts research using multidisciplinary approaches and a wide variety of techniques (Cell biology, electron microscopy, mice behavior, in vivo studies and others). The laboratory also routinely uses advanced mass spectrometric techniques to characterize the roles of small molecules and potentially new neuromodulators in the brain. The lab is also an associated member of the EU-based Trilogy consortium, which facilitates PhD student exchanges.
