Original listing · kept for referenceWe are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join a leading global cloud infrastructure organization working on next-generation cloud and data center technologies.
The role involves designing, developing, maintaining, and optimizing mission-critical embedded software operating at global scale — from firmware and device drivers to system software and advanced networking components for servers and custom network hardware.
The engineer will collaborate closely with global hardware, software, and firmware teams, contributing to systems that power cloud computing, high-performance computing (HPC), and machine learning services used by millions of customers worldwide.
The position is located in Tel Aviv / Haifa.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain embedded software in C/C++ for Linux and bare-metal environments
• Design and implement firmware and low-level system components (including networking stacks and drivers)
• Develop and integrate shared libraries and dynamic modules (.so) for infrastructure systems
• Work with advanced networking technologies such as RDMA, Ethernet, and virtualization
• Optimize system performance (CPU, memory, latency) in large-scale environments
• Debug, analyze, and profile complex systems using Linux tools (gdb, perf, valgrind, etc.)
• Identify and resolve memory leaks while ensuring system stability and reliability
• Support migration of codebases between Windows and Linux when required
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and backend teams
• Contribute to architecture design of high-performance distributed systems
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional C/C++ software development experience
• Strong experience in low-level Linux system development
• Experience in embedded systems, firmware, drivers, or system software
• Deep understanding of operating systems, concurrency, and distributed systems
• Experience with build systems (CMake/Make) and Linux toolchains
• Strong debugging and performance profiling skills
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Solid understanding of performance optimization and memory management
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with networking protocols (Ethernet, RDMA)
• Experience with HPC or machine learning infrastructure systems
