    TextRe is an innovative materials technology company. We are transforming synthetic textile waste into high-performance engineering compounds, driving the circular economy forward. As we scale our operations and expand into other markets, aiming to solve the Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) textile waste issue, we are looking for a brilliant, Textile & Polymer R&D Specialist.

    The Role

    We are seeking a hands-on, forward-thinking Textile & Polymer R&D Specialist to join our R&D team. In this role, you will be [art of material analysis of complex textile compositions, helping us push the boundaries of PCR waste processing and recycling constraints.

    You will work at the intersection of material science, chemistry, advanced characterization technologies and machinery, playing a critical role in driving our core technologies.

    Key Responsibilities

    •Textile & Material Analysis: Perform comprehensive analysis and characterization of textile compositions, understanding their chemical, physical, and thermal properties.

    •PCR Constraints & Feasibility: Deeply analyze the limitations and challenges associated with PCR textile waste streams to optimize processing and output quality.

    •Raw Material & Polymer Characterization: Characterize polymers, raw materials, and blends; specify the necessary technical requirements and test protocols, also for TextRe’s compounds.

    •Analytical Equipment Evaluation: Define and guide the requirements for analytical instruments (e.g., DSC, textile testing equipment) and advanced sorting/characterization technologies (e.g., NIR, camera-based vision systems).

    •Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the VP of R&D and CTO to translate analytical insights into scalable technology solutions and actionable process improvements.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    •Education: B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Textile Engineering (e.g., Shenkar or equivalent institution).

    •Domain Expertise: Strong background in chemistry with a clear understanding of textiles, fiber compositions, and polymer science.

    •Recycling / PCR Knowledge: Deep familiarity with textile recycling processes, PCR waste streams, and the associated technical bottlenecks.

    •Instrumentation Orientation: An aptitude for analytical and optical diagnostic tools (DSC, NIR spectroscopy, vision/camera technologies). Hands-on mastery of every tool is not mandatory, but a strong orientation and understanding of their analytical capabilities are essential.

    •Communication & Mindset: Highly analytical, proactive team player with strong English communication skills (written and spoken) to collaborate effectively within an innovative R&D environment.
