For our Haifa site, we are looking for a student in the field of Electro-Optics Operational Research to join the development of advanced electro-optical systems and perform research, performance calculations and physical simulations. If you are passionate about physics, optics and hands-on development of cutting-edge defense systems – come be part of our multidisciplinary team
In this role you will
Participate in the development and evaluation of electro-optical systems in various configurations, from requirements phase through delivery
Perform numerical calculations in MATLAB in the field of performance research – DRI (Detection, Recognition, Identification) and SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio)
Develop and run graphical physical simulations using Unreal Engine (UE) to model sensing environments and operational scenarios
Analyze data and perform computerized image processing as part of system performance testing and calibration processes
Participate in laboratory and field experiments for characterizing electro-optical components and testing system performance
Work with multidisciplinary teams (algorithms, optics, software and systems)
Requirements
3rd year B.Sc. student in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Physics or Computer Engineering, or M.Sc. student
Minimum two years of remaining studies
Availability of at least two full days per week
Knowledge and experience working with MATLAB
Experience working with Python - Advantage
Familiarity with Unreal Engine (UE) or a graphical simulation environment - Significant advantage
Strong learning ability, analytical thinking and broad system-level perspective
Commitment, responsibility and ability to work independently
