CyberWell is seeking a stellar Director of Finance to join our small but growing team! This position is full-time and is available for immediate start. We work in a hybrid format and are in our Tel Aviv office 3 days a week. This position will report to the CEO and COO.

    About Us

CyberWell is a start-up nonprofit on a mission to address online antisemitism and hate in the digital era. We partner with the most influential tech companies, driving the enforcement and improvement of hate speech policies across the online space and equipping them with data-driven solutions to limit the spread of Jew-hatred on their platforms, apps, and services.

    Position Overview

The Director of Finance will lead CyberWell’s financial planning and day-to-day financial management, ensuring that budgets, reporting, and financial systems support the organization’s mission and growth. Working closely with the CEO, COO, Treasurer of the Board, outsourced finance providers, and program and development staff, they will help maintain clear financial oversight, strong internal processes, and support timely decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership and Strategy

    • Lead the annual organizational budget building process with senior leadership.

    • Present financial information to senior leadership clearly on a monthly basis.

    • Provide financial guidance to the CEO and senior leadership.

    • Advise on financial risks, sustainability, staffing plans, program growth, and strategic decisions.

    • Help department heads plan and manage their budgets.

    • Maintain internal financial controls, approval processes, and documentation standards.

    • Update financial policies as needed, including expense, travel, procurement, credit card, and approval policies.

    Donor Compliance

In cooperation with the philanthropy department and senior leadership you will:

    • Support grant proposals by preparing budgets and budget narratives.

    • Monitor grant spending and flag issues early to ensure spending aligns with donor requirements.

    • Maintain clear documentation for reporting purposes.

    • Prepare and approve financial reports for donors.

    Financial Operations

    • Track income and expenses against the approved budget – flag risks and gaps.

    • Maintain and reflect organized financial records, contracts, invoices, and supporting documentation.

    • Serve as the internal lead for the outsourced accountant and payroll provider.

    • Review monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reports.

    • Review monthly credit card statements, receipts, reimbursements, invoices, and expenses.

    • Track and reflect fiscal sponsor transfers and reconcile them against internal records.

    • Ensure vendor, contractor, reimbursement, and payroll processes are completed accurately and on time.

    • Review employee timesheets, reimbursements, and payroll records to ensure accuracy before payroll is finalized – then review pay slips to ensure payroll provider services are accurate.

    • Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding with the outsourced payroll provider, ensuring records, benefits, and payroll changes are processed accurately and on time.

    Nonprofit Auditing and Compliance

    • Coordinate the annual audited financial statements process with leadership and outsourced provider.

    • Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations, fiscal sponsor policies, and organizational policies.

    • Submit all documents to the correct government bodies annually to ensure the organization maintains its nonprofit status, proper management certificate, and tax deductible status (seif 46).
