    Details

The Institute for Lung Health (ILH) at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join a multidisciplinary research team investigating the health effects of environmental exposures using advanced molecular epidemiology approaches. The fellow will contribute to studies integrating environmental epidemiology, randomized controlled trial data from an indoor air quality intervention, and high-dimensional molecular profiling to better understand the biological mechanisms linking air pollution and other environmental exposures to respiratory and cardiovascular health. Particular emphasis will be placed on proteomics, biomarkers of biological aging, and the application of causal inference and mediation methods to identify pathways through which environmental exposures influence health.

This position offers outstanding opportunities to work with rich longitudinal clinical, environmental exposure, and multi-omics datasets; develop expertise in biomarker discovery and validation; and apply advanced epidemiologic and biostatistical methods to address important questions at the intersection of environmental health, aging, and chronic lung disease.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will lead analyses using longitudinal environmental exposure, clinical, and molecular datasets, with a particular focus on proteomic biomarkers of biological aging. The fellow will develop expertise in environmental epidemiology, molecular epidemiology, multi-omic biomarker analysis, causal inference, mediation analysis, and longitudinal statistical methods. Responsibilities include conducting independent analyses, collaborating with investigators across multiple disciplines, presenting findings at national and international scientific meetings, and leading the preparation of manuscripts for publication. The position provides an exceptional opportunity for career development in environmental health research through close mentorship and collaboration with experts in pulmonary medicine, environmental epidemiology, biostatistics, and translational science.

    Qualifications

PhD, MD, Dr.PH, or doctoral degree in environmental health, epidemiology, or related public health field.

Expertise in multi-omics approaches to studying environmental exposures and their impact on health across the life course.

Strong quantitative analysis skills and proficiency with data analysis software.

Demonstrated research experience in relevant areas.

    Excellent writing and communication skills.

Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under supervision.
