Responsibilities •    Take ownership of backend services from design to production, including testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. •    Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems. •    Improve and refactor existing functionality while maintaining high engineering standards. •    Solve product and technical challenges with creativity, strong engineering judgment, and pragmatic thinking. •    Use AI-assisted development tools (such as Claude) to accelerate development while maintaining code quality, reliability, and ownership. •    Collaborate closely with Product Managers and engineers to design and deliver new features. •    Participate in architecture and technical design discussions. •    Work both independently and collaboratively as part of an Agile (Scrum) team. Requirements •    B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. •    At least 1 year of professional experience as a Node.js Backend Software Engineer. •    Self-learner, independent, highly motivated, and naturally curious. •    Strong experience with Node.js software design, asynchronous programming, and streams. •    Solid understanding of client-server communication, HTTP, and REST APIs. •    Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases. •    Experience working with Git and collaborative development workflows. •    Comfortable using AI coding assistants as part of the development workflow while maintaining strong engineering judgment. •    High standards for code quality, testing, maintainability, security, and performance. •    Creative problem solver with the ability to think outside the box and find practical solutions to complex challenges. •    Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Nice to Have •    Experience with CI/CD pipelines. •    Hands-on experience with message brokers such as Kafka or Google Pub/Sub. •    Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. •    Experience with monitoring, observability, and production  Optimove is an equal opportunity employer.
