• Reporting to: Physics and Electro-Optics Lead
Job Description
As a professional authority in mechanical design, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across all stages of the product lifecycle—from complex and challenging conceptual design to hands-on assembly, manufacturing, and support.
Key responsibilities include:
• End-to-End Mechanical Design: Performing mechanical strength calculations, designing mechanisms, motors, and pneumatic systems, conducting thermal and vibration simulations, creating manufacturing drawings, and executing assemblies.
• Optomechanics: Designing electro-optical modules and sub-assemblies.
• Global Support & Technical Assistance: Providing remote high-level technical support for strategic customers during complex troubleshooting, reinforcing our commitment to service excellence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with Procurement, NPI, manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure projects stay on schedule. Providing technical guidance to production control (PM&C) and addressing manufacturer queries.
• Forward-Looking R&D: Partnering in the design of next-generation, high-resolution machinery by anticipating market trends and integrating innovative technologies.
• Global Interfaces: Maintaining close working relationships with company sites worldwide.
Requirements
• Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience:
• At least 2 years of experience in complex, multidisciplinary mechanical design involving diverse technologies (optical systems, motorized systems, pneumatics).
• Proven experience leading a module from concept to system-level testing (Hands-on experience).
• Experience in Optomechanics (design of optical or electro-optical assemblies/systems such as cameras, lenses, microscopes).
• Software: Proficiency in SolidWorks is mandatory; experience with PDM is a distinct advantage.
• Languages: High-level English proficiency.
