Original listing · kept for reference

• This is a temporary position covering a maternity leave for a period of six months.

Walmart Global Tech’s presence in Israel has grown over the past few years with 4 acquisitions to date. The team is an integral part of the core of Walmart’s e-commerce platform – the largest retailer in the world. In Aspectiva, the first acquisition in this site, we build state-of-the-art NLP solutions that enable millions of Walmart shoppers to make smarter and more confident buying decisions.

We are looking for an Associate AI Product Manager (entry-level position) to join our team for a 6-month contract (covering a maternity leave). This is an opportunity for a highly-capable entry-level individual to gain valuable industry experience, as part of a team of strong product professionals.

You'll work at the intersection of Data Science, e-commerce, and data platforms – owning capabilities that directly shape how millions of customers discover and buy products. You’ll own real product problems, and work across Walmart's e-commerce organization.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical foundations, combined with hands-on experience working alongside data science or ML teams, strong intuitions on how to define quality criteria and drive model improvements, and the ability to take full ownership of a technical backlog and deliver results independently.

Responsibilities:

• Own, deeply understand, and execute plans for improving NLP / DS models and capabilities across various domains and customer needs; from prioritizing improvement iterations, through defining quality criteria, to collaborating with DS and Engineering on delivery.

• Define evaluation frameworks: Establish quality dimensions, create labelling guidelines and examples, and work with quality and data science teams to build automated evaluation pipelines.

• Own and drive a prioritized backlog of improvements to platform capabilities; understand the domain in-depth, gather feedback and faults (incl. customer analytics), and apply methodical reasoning to assess best prioritization within a given capacity.

• Collaborate with data science and ML engineers as well as with global product teams, to translate product problems into model improvements; challenge assumptions, evaluate trade-offs, and drive measurable outcomes.

• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams across a global, cross-timezone team.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of Product Management experience in a data-centric or platform-focused role – or proven equivalent analytical/technical background with clear PM-relevant responsibilities.

• Strong technical foundation – degree in Computer Science, Data Science, a highly related scientific field

• Passion for, and deep understanding of ML and NLP concepts, techniques, and models.

• Experience engaging directly with data science or ML functions, feeling comfortable in technical discussions and challenging DS choices.

• Strong analytical skills – comfortable with data, metrics, and quality evaluation; able to define what "good" looks like and how to measure it.

• Strong written and spoken English; able to communicate complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to work independently and drive progress.

• Advantage: experience managing B2C products and features.

• Advantage: experience working with teams across different time zones and geographies.

We Especially Appreciate People Who...

• Are genuinely excited by the problems AI can solve for shoppers.

• Learn fast, share ideas openly, and give honest feedback.

• Have a can-do attitude and thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

• Think customer-first, connect technical outputs to real shopper value and impact.
