    Job Title: Field Service for Energy Storage Systems

    IMPORTANT: This is a home-based position; however, the candidate must be able to visit multiple client’s site in Israel to perform field service maintenance, commissioning, and repairs upon request. Travel is up to 70% in Israel.

    The Position

    The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing hands-on service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) at customer sites. This role requires a self-motivated technician who enjoys working independently in outdoor environments and is comfortable diagnosing electrical, mechanical, cooling, and software-related issues. The Field Service Technician serves as the front-line representative of the company, ensuring equipment operates safely and reliably while delivering exceptional customer service. This position involves frequent travel to customer sites and requires the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

    • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and communication system faults using appropriate test equipment and diagnostic tools.

    • Perform software and firmware updates on battery systems, power conversion systems (PCS), and site controllers.

    • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain cooling and HVAC systems associated with BESS installations.

    • Replace defective components including batteries, electrical devices, sensors, fans, pumps, filters, wiring, and other field-replaceable parts.

    • Perform system commissioning, functional testing, and return equipment safely to service following maintenance activities.

    • Complete detailed service reports, maintenance records, and work documentation accurately and promptly after each service visit.

    • Communicate findings, corrective actions, and recommendations to customers and internal support teams.

    • Follow all electrical safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and site-specific safety requirements.

    • Support emergency service calls and respond to equipment outages within required service level agreements (SLAs).

    • Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, test equipment, and spare parts.

    • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering or technical support when required.

    • Work closely with remote technical support teams to diagnose and resolve field issues.

    • Maintain professional relationships with customers while representing the company at services sites.

    • Travel extensively throughout the assigned region and occasionally support projects.

    • Work independently with minimal supervision while managing daily service schedules and priorities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • 2+ years of hands-on field service, industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical repair experience.

    • Experience working with battery energy storage systems, solar, inverters, industrial electrical equipment, power generation, HVAC, or similar electrical systems is preferred.

    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, networking, and control system issues.

    • Experience using multimeters, insulation testers, clamp meters, thermal cameras, laptops, and other diagnostic equipment.

    • Comfortable performing manual repairs and component replacement in the field.

    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Proficient in completing digital service reports and maintenance documentation.

    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

    • Fluent in English and local language.

    • Willingness to travel approximately 50–70% throughout the country.

    • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation when required.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.

    • Comfortable working independently at remote utility and renewable energy sites.

    • Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and safely access electrical equipment.

    • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg (50 lbs).

    • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
