Q-Factor, a newly established startup, is building a full-stack quantum computer using neutral atoms. Recent years have seen the rapid rise of neutral atoms as a leading modality in the exciting field of quantum computing. Our fantastic team, born out of decades of combined experience, is utilizing state of art technology together with a unique novel approach towards realizing a fully working quantum processing unit with unmatched performances. We’re looking for exceptional people to join our growing vibrant team of physicists, engineers and algorithms developers.

As a Laser Physicist at Q-Factor you will lead the research and development of the laser backbone for our quantum computing platform, collaborating across physics and engineering teams to realize the most advanced QPU.

Responsibilities:

Lead the research and development of an advanced laser system

Integrate and build a full working multi-wavelength/multi-beams laser setup

Characterize system performance, stability, noise, and uptime

Collaborate with other physics and engineering teams on integrating the laser infrastructure into the quantum computing platforms

Qualifications:

Advanced degree in experimental physics

At least 2-4 years of hands-on experience working with lasers and electro optics

Good familiarity with both fibers and free space optics - an advantage

Good understanding of optics, spectroscopy, frequency locking, and control electronics

Good interpersonal skills and teamwork capability

Self reliance and high motivation
