Purchasing Economist

Responsibilities

• Performing ongoing controls on purchase orders – ensuring full updating of all cost components, identifying exceptions and handling gaps.

• Calculating the full cost of products and raw materials, including supplier prices and associated costs.

• Building, managing and controlling the annual procurement budget, including analyzing deviations between budget and execution throughout the year.

• Leading savings and efficiency projects – identifying opportunities, performing economic analyses, formulating recommendations and monitoring implementation.

• Preparing monthly management reports and material cost forecasts, including controlling budgetary exceptions.

• Improving processes, promoting automation and implementing advanced tools.

• Performing ad-hoc economic analyses according to the organization’s needs.

• Training relevant parties in the organization on procurement costs and loading and control methodologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics – required.

Required Skills

• Experience of about one and a half to two years or more in a financial role.

• Very high proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions – mandatory.

• Familiarity with procurement and supply chain processes – an advantage.

• Experience working with the SAP system in procurement and cost contexts – a significant advantage.

• Good level of English – an advantage.

• Ability to work with multiple interfaces, manage tasks simultaneously and withstand pressure.

• High analytical skills, critical thinking, accuracy and attention to detail.
