Role Overview
As R&D Manager, you will lead one of STXI Motion’s core technological domains, driving the development of advanced motion control systems from concept to validated production release.
This role combines deep technical ownership, multidisciplinary leadership, and a strong focus on innovation, software-driven differentiation, and AI-enabled engineering. You will define system architecture, lead execution across teams and locations, and turn complex engineering challenges into robust, manufacturable products.
Responsibilities
• Lead multidisciplinary R&D teams across Israel and Germany.
• Define system architecture across power electronics, embedded software, control algorithms, mechanics, and communication interfaces.
• Own full product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping through validation and production release.
• Drive innovation in motion control development, with emphasis on embedded software, scalable system architecture, simulation, automation, and AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Promote structured development methodologies, including Agile, stage-gate processes, design reviews, and validation standards.
• Establish strong engineering standards that support quality, reliability, manufacturability, and scalability.
Requirements
• 10+ years of R&D experience in embedded systems, power electronics, motion control or electromechanical systems.
• Proven experience as an R&D Manager leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, embedded software, mechanics, control, system engineering, and validation.
• Demonstrated ability to drive software-led innovation, including practical use of AI, data analytics, simulation automation, or advanced engineering tools.
• Hands-on background with embedded software development, including C/C++, DSP, MCU, or FPGA-based platforms.
• Familiarity with electromechanical systems, including motors, gearboxes, encoders, motion feedback, mechanical integration, or actuator-based products.
• Experience with industrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, CANopen.
• Experience with standards-driven products, including UL or Functional Safety per IEC standards.
