Role Description The Medical Underwriter role at L.P.M. (Israel) LTD is a part-time hybrid position based in Kiryat Ono, with the flexibility to perform some duties from home. In this role, the Medical Underwriter reviews and evaluates medical information, insurance applications, and risk profiles for Life and Health reinsurance cases. The individual prepares underwriting assessments, recommends appropriate terms and conditions, and collaborates with internal stakeholders and external insurance partners to clarify medical and risk-related questions. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing medical reports, applying underwriting guidelines, documenting decisions, participating in case discussions, and supporting the continuous improvement of underwriting processes and standards.
Qualifications
• Ability to perform Medical Underwriting and apply Underwriting principles to Life and Health insurance cases.
• Knowledge of Insurance concepts, products, and reinsurance structures within Life and Health markets.
• Strong Analytical Skills for interpreting medical data, risk factors, and financial implications.
• Effective Communication skills for collaborating with insurers, medical professionals, and colleagues.
• Relevant academic background in a medical, scientific, actuarial, or insurance-related field is beneficial.
• Prior experience in medical or life underwriting, reinsurance, or health insurance is an advantage.
