Privacy & Data Protection Lawyer – Freelance

Role Description

Up Security is seeking an experienced freelance Privacy & Data Protection Lawyer to support our consulting activities in the fields of privacy, data protection, information security, and privacy consulting.

The role involves supporting our clients with privacy compliance projects and helping them address both the regulatory and technological aspects of data protection.

Major Responsibilities

• Support privacy and data protection compliance projects

• Provide privacy consulting for the development, implementation, and use of AI-based systems

• Draft and review privacy and compliance documentation, including:

• Privacy policies

• Information security policies and procedures

• Data mapping and data flow documentation

• Vendor assessments

• Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)

• Review information systems, technological services, and AI-based solutions from a privacy and data protection perspective

• Analyze applicable regulatory requirements and support their implementation within organizations

• Work extensively in English with legal documents, systems, clients, and international vendors

Requirements

• An Israeli certified lawyer with 4+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, GRC, legal compliance, or information security.

• English - Mother tongue level, including excellent writing and reading skills

• Familiarity with Israeli privacy law and/or international data protection regulations, such as the GDPR, CCPA

• Familiarity with privacy considerations relating to AI systems and emerging AI regulation

• Experience working with technology companies or in SaaS environments

• Familiarity with GRC and information security frameworks

• Practical experience drafting privacy and compliance documentation

• Experience drafting and reviewing legal and regulatory documentation

• Ability to work independently, manage assignments effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail

• Self-starter who can push and execute projects within the organization.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Team player, strong analytical skills and process oriented
