Full job description
Original listing · kept for referenceKela is a defense technology company building advanced battlefield systems for modern militaries. Alongside its operational software platform for integrating sensors, unmanned systems, and autonomous capabilities. In addition, Kela operates an Advanced Munitions Group, a dedicated hardware division focused on scalable, low-cost, platform-agnostic munitions and launched effects for unmanned systems. At the Advanced Munitions Group, we don’t just buy parts; we build the resilient backbone of Western defense. As our Supply Chain manager, you will take full ownership of our end-to-end supply chain, managing the entire procurement lifecycle from early-stage R&D and prototyping through to full-scale serial production. We are looking for a proactive project leader who can scale our procurement operations, drive cross-functional NPI readiness, manage complex timelines, and ensure that our production lines never skip a beat. Responsibilities • Lead the procurement and logistics for high-precision mechanical, electronic, and fiber-optic components. • Act as the primary supply chain interface for New Product Introduction. Partner closely with Engineering and R&D to manage the seamless transition from prototype to mass production, ensuring BOM maturity, timeline adherence, and Design for Supply Chain (DfSC) readiness. • Drive procurement milestones for pilot runs and first article inspections (FAI), proactively mitigating risks on custom or unproven components before full-scale manufacturing begins. • Identify and vet key global suppliers (TI, Molex, JST, etc.) and manage the end-to-end relationship lifecycle in our CRM and ERP platforms. • Take ownership of the Critical Raw Materials strategy, ensuring our BOM is resilient against global shortages and compliant with international sourcing regulations. • Implement and manage the procurement, inventory, and vendor-facing modules in our Priority/CRM systems, ensuring 100% data integrity. • Proactively identify supply chain bottlenecks and develop "Plan B" sourcing strategies for long-lead items. • Oversee international shipping and ensure compliance with defense-related trade regulations (ITAR, TAA, and DFARS).
Requirements: • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain or Procurement within a high-tech or defense manufacturing environment. • Proven track record of managing supply chain deliverables for NPI projects. Strong project management capabilities to align cross-functional teams (R&D, Engineering, Operations) around critical launch dates. • Power-user level experience with Priority and established CRM systems for vendor and contract management. • Deep understanding of Critical Raw Materials (CRM) Acts and their impact on global defense electronics. • Proven track record in international procurement, including managing Far-East and U.S.-based supply chains. • A "closer" mentality, owning the ability to negotiate complex contracts, pricing, and lead times with major global vendors. • B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. • Native-level Hebrew and excellent professional English (verbal and written). • The role includes periodic international travel. Advantage: • Experience in building a supply chain from "scratch" in a rapid-growth environment. • Background in specialized electronics (Semiconductors/Connectors) and TAA-compliant sourcing. • Formal project management certification (e.g., PMP) or deep familiarity with Agile/Stage-Gate NPI methodologies.
