Role Description This full-time, tenure-track faculty position in the Faculty of Biology is an on-site role based in Haifa, Israel. The successful candidate will develop and lead an independent research program, secure external funding, and publish in peer-reviewed journals. Daily responsibilities include conducting and supervising research, mentoring graduate and undergraduate students, and collaborating with colleagues across disciplines. The role involves teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, developing innovative curricula, and participating in departmental and institutional committees. The faculty member is expected to contribute to the academic community, engage in international collaborations, and support the Faculty’s mission of advancing biological sciences. Qualifications

    • Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Biology or a related life sciences discipline; postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field.

    • Demonstrated research excellence, including a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and evidence of an independent research agenda.

    • Experience in one or more areas such as genetics, biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology, developmental biology, human health, or disease mechanisms.

    • Ability to integrate quantitative or interdisciplinary approaches (e.g., mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, or engineering) into biological research.

    • Commitment to high-quality teaching, including experience or potential in course development, classroom instruction, and student mentoring.

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills, with proficiency in relevant laboratory or computational methods.

    • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a diverse, multidisciplinary, and international academic environment.
