Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Logic Designer & FPGA Team Leader to lead and expand an FPGA engineering team developing life-saving medical systems. This strategic leadership role combines hands-on FPGA architecture and RTL design with people management, driving the development of high-quality, safety-critical products that impact millions of patients worldwide.

Reporting directly to the Director of Hardware Engineering, you will play a key role in product architecture, technical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration within a regulated medical device environment.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead, mentor, and grow a team of FPGA engineers.

* Define and design FPGA architectures for medical systems.

* Develop FPGA/RTL solutions using Verilog and SystemVerilog.

* Drive FPGA synthesis, implementation, and optimization using Vivado and Quartus.

* Perform Static Timing Analysis (STA) and manage XDC/SDC timing constraints.

* Support hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, JTAG, and BERT.

* Collaborate closely with hardware, software, systems, and architecture teams.

* Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements for medical devices.

* Contribute to technical strategy and product architecture decisions.

Mandatory Requirements

* Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

* Minimum 6 years of Logic Design and FPGA/RTL development experience.

* Minimum 2 years leading or managing FPGA engineering teams.

* Strong FPGA architecture design experience.

* Advanced proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog.

* Experience with Vivado and Quartus.

* Strong knowledge of:

* Static Timing Analysis (STA)

* XDC/SDC constraints

* Low-skew clocking

* Hands-on laboratory debugging experience using:

* Oscilloscopes

* Logic analyzers

* Protocol analyzers

* JTAG

* BERT

* Experience with PCIe and SerDes protocols.

* Knowledge of signal processing algorithms.

* Ability to read electrical schematics.

* Basic understanding of:

* Signal Integrity (SI)

* Power Integrity (PI)

* Power distribution

* Thermal/Cooling requirements

* Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and collaborate across hardware, software, and systems organizations.

Nice to Have

* Experience with Artix-7 FPGA devices.

* Experience with Kintex UltraScale+ FPGA devices.

* Experience developing regulated medical devices.

* Familiarity with safety-critical hardware development.
