We are searching for the best talent for an Embedded Software Engineer role, to join our team located in Yokneam, Israel.
Purpose: Embedded Developer working on firmware and driver development for the TRUPULSE generator, based on Nios II soft core IP on FPGA platforms. Works closely with the hardware team to integrate peripherals and maintain BSPs and drivers.
You Will Be Responsible For
• Develop embedded firmware in C for FPGA-based systems
• Maintain and extend BSPs and low-level drivers
• Integrate software with hardware peripherals
• Debug system-level issues across firmware and hardware
• Collaborate with hardware engineers
Qualifications And Requirements
• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong C programming skills for embedded systems (pointer usage, memory management, fixed-point / bit manipulation)
• Experience with bare-metal firmware or RTOS-based systems (task scheduling, interrupts, synchronization)
• Experience writing and debugging device drivers (UART, SPI, I2C, GPIO, timers, ADC/DAC)
• Hands-on debugging skills: JTAG, serial consoles, GDB or equivalent debugger
• Version control experience (Git / TFS — branching, pull requests, basic workflows)
• Basic electronics knowledge: reading schematics, voltage levels, signal basics
• Familiarity with Nios II architecture, toolchain, and runtime (BSP, Eclipse-based tools, cross gcc) - an advantage
• Practical knowledge of FPGA toolchains (Intel/Altera Quartus, Platform Designer / Qsys) - an advantage
• Experience with debugging tools such as logic analyzers or SignalTap - an advantage
• Good verbal and written communication skills
