Role Overview:
We are a massive, established digital media and e-commerce group owning some of the most recognized consumer brands, marketplaces, and content platforms in the market. Over the years, we’ve acquired and built a lot of different platforms. The result? A fragmented tech stack, disconnected systems, and a fair share of technical debt.
We are done patching things up. We are looking for a sharp, no-nonsense, and charismatic CTO to come in, clean house, unify our architecture, and drag our entire ecosystem into the GenAI era. This isn't a "sit in an ivory tower and make PowerPoint slides" job—you will get your hands dirty transforming a sprawling portfolio into a lean, automated, AI-driven machine.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ecosystem Architecture & Evolution: Drive the architectural vision for a multi-product digital environment. Lead the gradual consolidation of diverse platforms into a scalable, unified, and modern infrastructure.
• AI & Innovation Execution: Actively introduce GenAI, smart search, and advanced personalization across the group’s properties to transform user experiences and B2B/B2C funnels.
• Full-Stack Ownership: Lead the tech roadmap for both high-traffic consumer sites and the underlying core systems (Data, Billing, CRM), ensuring a seamless, automated, and secure back-office infrastructure.
• People Leadership: Directly manage, mentor, and inspire a tech division composed of developers and team leads. Foster a fast-paced, high-ownership, and collaborative R&D culture.
• Keep it Lean & Scalable: Ensure maximum performance, high uptime, and modern cloud practices (AWS/GCP) across all group assets.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Experience: 4-6+ years of tech leadership experience (e.g., Director of Engineering, Head of R&D, R&D Manager, or CTO of a startup) within high-volume B2C, E-commerce, or marketplace environments.
• AI-Forward Mindset: Strong passion for and practical understanding of AI/ML trends and how to implement them to solve real-world product and data challenges.
• Strong Architectural Core: Deep, up-to-date knowledge of modern cloud environments (AWS/GCP), microservices, and API-driven architectures. You don’t need to code every day, but you must be able to deep-dive into design reviews with your team leads.
• Agile & Execution-Oriented: Proven track record of delivering complex tech projects under tight deadlines while keeping architecture clean and scalable.
• Business-Savvy Techie: Excellent understanding of user funnels, data-driven optimization, and how smart tech choices drive business growth.
• Exceptional Communication: A collaborative leader who can easily translate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and inspire a tight-knit engineering team.
