UCT is looking for a talented Technical Trainer to join us in Israel!

The Technical Trainer – Machining & Fabrication supports the development of a highly skilled, safe, and capable manufacturing workforce at our Israel site. This role designs, delivers, and continuously improves training programs for CNC machinists, turning specialists, metal fabricators, and assembly technicians who manufacture precision ultra-high purity valves, fittings, and flow control components used across the semiconductor and process industries.

The trainer partners closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and HR to ensure team members achieve competency in machining, turning, assembly techniques, blueprint reading, metrology, and contamination control processes required for Ham Let’s world class manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Training Program Development

• Develop and maintain structured training curricula for machining, turning, fabrication, and assembly roles, aligned with site technical requirements and global UCT/Ham‑Let standards.

• Create learning paths that include foundational skills, equipment‑specific training, safety requirements, and progressive competency development.

• Translate engineering drawings, process sheets, and manufacturing standards into accessible training materials.

• Build hands‑on training modules for CNC operation, machine setup, tool selection, cutting parameters, and precision assembly.

• Lead the onboarding of new personnel, including delivering initial orientation to machining and assembly environments, assessing baseline skill levels, introducing safety and compliance expectations, and guiding new employees through their first stages of practical, supervised skills development.

• Ensure new hires receive structured exposure to equipment, processes, and quality standards.

• Partner with supervisors to transition new personnel from guided practice to independent operation based on demonstrated competencies.

Training Delivery & Facilitation

• Deliver classroom, shop‑floor, and 1:1 coaching session for new hires, cross‑training, and upskilling programs.

• Train employees on machining fundamentals, CNC operation, manual machining, turning center operation, deburring and finishing techniques, and precision assembly practices.

• Teach critical supporting skills including GD&T, blueprint reading, metrology, measurement tool usage, torque procedures, leak‑test preparation, and contamination control.

• Facilitate safety and compliance training related to machining operations, equipment handling, and chemical/passivation areas.

Capability Assessment & Competency Management

• Conduct hands‑on skills assessments and evaluate readiness for independent operation on CNC lathes, mills, turning operations, fabrications, and assembly lines.

• Maintain skills matrices, certification records, and progress tracking for each employee, potentially using the site’s Learning Management System (LMS) to manage training records, automate tracking, and support audit readiness.

• Partner with supervisors and engineers to define and validate competency expectations for each workstation.

Manufacturing Support & Continuous Improvement

• Work with Engineering to translate new manufacturing processes, product changes, and equipment introductions into updated training content.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, 6S, mistake‑proofing) by incorporating best practices into training programs.

• Identify performance gaps and recommend training interventions that improve productivity, reduce scrap, and enhance quality.

• Conduct root-cause analysis on training-related defects and implement corrective training.

Documentation & Compliance

• Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, visual aids, and equipment training guides.

• Ensure alignment with UCT/Ham‑Let quality management systems, including ISO standards, semiconductor ultra-high purity (UHP) requirements, and internal process controls.

• Maintain accurate training records for audits, customer requirements, and internal compliance.

Qualifications

Required

• Technical diploma, vocational certificate, or equivalent experience in machining, precision manufacturing, or mechanical technology.

• Hands-on experience in CNC machining, turning, or precision assembly within a high‑precision manufacturing environment.

• 3+ yrs experience training, facilitating, and communicate complex technical concepts to employees at varying skill levels.

• Demonstrated knowledge of CNC setup, tooling, feeds/speeds, measurement tools, GD&T, blueprint reading, and machining best practices.

• Experience writing or delivering training materials, SOPs, or technical documentation.

• Proficiency with metrology equipment (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM basics, etc.).

Preferred

• Experience in semiconductor‑grade or UHP component manufacturing.

• Prior experience as a technical trainer, machining instructor, or training lead.

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 6S, or continuous improvement methodologies.

• Experience in assembly of valves, fluid fittings, or precision flow‑control products.

• Familiarity with LMS/ERP/MES systems and digital training tools.

Success Profile

A successful Technical Trainer in this environment is:

• Hands‑on – comfortable teaching at machines, on the floor, and in clean/controlled areas.

• Patient & methodical – able to break down complex processes into teachable steps.

• Technically strong – fully understands machining, turning, metrology, and precision assembly.

• Quality‑driven – reinforces the importance of tolerance, cleanliness, and exactness.

• Collaborative – works seamlessly with production, engineering, and quality teams.

• Continuous improvement–oriented – always looking for ways to improve training and processes.
