AI Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join a team building an enterprise-grade AI platform that converts natural language into SQL queries securely and at scale. The role covers the full stack of this system: AI engines, backend services, enterprise data integration, and security mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Develop core NL→SQL engines that translate natural language into database queries

• Design and implement RAG pipelines connecting business context to enterprise data structures

• Build a schema intelligence layer for data mapping and enrichment

• Develop a SQL security layer for query validation and protection

• Design and optimize prompts for LLM-driven components

• Develop backend microservices and REST APIs

• Integrate with enterprise data sources, including databases and data lakes

• Optimize system performance, accuracy, and response times

• Implement monitoring, logging, and audit mechanisms

• Collaborate closely with QA, Data, DevOps, and Architecture teams

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend development experience

• Strong, hands-on Python skills (core to this role)

• Experience building REST APIs and microservices

• Solid experience with SQL databases

• Experience working in Linux environments

• Strong understanding of system design and software architecture

• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket

• Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team

Project-Specific Requirements

• Experience working with LLMs (GPT-based or open-source models)

• Experience with or solid understanding of RAG architectures

• Experience with prompt engineering

• Strong understanding of complex data structures and advanced SQL (joins, aggregations)

• Experience integrating with AI APIs
