Freelance Opportunity – Senior Computer Vision / Machine Vision Engineer (Embedded AI)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Computer Vision / Machine Vision Engineer to join an innovative R&D project involving advanced real-time image processing on an embedded system.

This is a high-priority project, and we are looking for someone who can start immediately and dedicate significant time over the coming weeks.

The role focuses on improving the accuracy, robustness, and performance of an existing Computer Vision pipeline for detecting small visual features under challenging real-world conditions.

What We're Looking For

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Computer Vision / Machine Vision.

- Strong expertise in classical image processing and Deep Learning.

- Excellent Python and/or C programming skills.

- Experience with OpenCV and PyTorch (TensorFlow is also acceptable).

- Experience with object detection, segmentation, feature extraction, and small-object detection.

- Experience optimizing Computer Vision algorithms for embedded or edge AI platforms.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Preferred Experience

- Embedded vision systems.

- Medical imaging.

- Industrial inspection.

- Robotics.

- Camera systems and optics.

- AI deployment on embedded platforms (TensorRT, ONNX Runtime, TensorFlow Lite, or similar).

Engagement

- Freelance (hourly or project-based).

- NDA required before technical discussions.

Work Location

Most of the development can be performed remotely. However, periodic on-site work is required to collaborate with our mechanical, electronics, and software engineering teams during integration, testing, and optimization.

Our R&D and manufacturing facility is located in Hatzor HaGlilit (Northern Israel). Candidates should be able to travel to the site as needed.
