Application DBA

We are looking for an experienced Application DBA to join our R&D team and take ownership of the database layer across complex, mission-critical systems.

This is a hands-on role combining database architecture, development, performance optimization, automation, and operational ownership, with a strong focus on enterprise and on-premises environments.

What You’ll Do

• Design database architecture, schemas, and data-access patterns for new systems from the ground up.

• Work closely with Development and Product teams on scalable and efficient database solutions.

• Develop and maintain complex Stored Procedures, Functions, Views, and SQL queries.

• Analyze and optimize database and query performance in high-load environments.

• Monitor database health, availability, and performance, including alerts and key operational metrics.

• Independently troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and bottlenecks.

• Build and maintain Database CI/CD pipelines, including schema migrations, version control, and automated deployments.

• Develop scripts and automation tools for database operations.

• Define and maintain Backup & Restore strategies.

• Implement and maintain database security policies and controls.

• Ensure database reliability, resilience, security, and scalability across production environments.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Database Engineering, Development, and/or Administration in large-scale environments.

• Strong experience with Oracle DB or other enterprise relational SQL databases.

• Proven experience working in On-Premises environments.

• Advanced SQL skills, including hands-on experience with Stored Procedures, Functions, complex queries, and performance tuning.

• Experience building and maintaining Database CI/CD processes, including migrations, version control, and automated deployments.

• Experience with scripting and automation of database operational tasks.

• Hands-on experience with Backup & Restore, database security policies, and health monitoring.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to independently resolve database performance issues.

• Excellent English communication skills and experience working with distributed, multicultural R&D teams.
