R&D Team Lead

Today, Captain's Eye serves more than 30 customers worldwide, with hundreds of AI systems deployed onboard leading shipping companies.

We're looking for an experienced R&D Team Lead to lead our software engineering team and build the next generation of AI-powered cloud and onboard software platforms.

Responsibilities • Lead and mentor a team of full-stack engineers.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and modern web applications.

• Design and develop software for both cloud and onboard (on premises) systems.

• Own features end-to-end, from technical design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.

• Drive technical architecture and engineering best practices.

• Review code and improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Collaborate closely with Product, AI, and DevOps teams.

Requirements • Proven hands-on experience developing AI-powered software products.

• 7+ years of professional full-stack development experience.

• 3+ years of experience leading software development teams.

• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript.

• Experience with React (preferred) or Angular.

• Experience with NestJS (or similar backend frameworks).

• Solid experience with MySQL and MongoDB.

• Experience with microservices and message brokers such as Kafka or MQTT.

• Experience designing distributed systems.

• Familiarity with AWS, Docker, CI/CD, and Git.

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
