Firmware Verification & Infra Student

The Group Our group develops image sensors that are integrated into the cameras of all leading smartphone brands. Team members are expected to gain a deep understanding of all system layers — from block and IP level through chip and system up to user interfaces. What will you do? We are looking for a motivated student to join our Firmware Engineering team and help build the scripts, integrations, and infrastructure that keep our development and verification workflows running. In this role you will write automation, connect tools and systems, maintain test environments, and develop internal utilities used by firmware developers and verification engineers. You will also explore how AI-assisted coding and automation tools can improve these workflows, under the guidance of senior team members. Responsibilities • Write Python, shell, and TCL scripts for automation, data processing, log analysis, and developer tooling. • Build and maintain integrations between firmware/verification tools, CI/CD systems, test frameworks, and reporting platforms. • Develop and improve infrastructure for simulation and emulation environments (e.g., Cadence Palladium, CDE), including setup helpers, debug scripts, and result parsers. • Maintain and enhance regression pipelines, nightly test flows, and artifact management. • Create dashboards, reports, and data pipelines that help the team track test status, coverage, and failures. • Write and maintain low-level unit and system-level tests. • Improve developer workflows: environment setup, release packaging, triage automation, and productivity tooling. • Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted coding assistants and other productivity tools into the team's toolchain where they add clear value. • Collaborate with firmware, verification, algorithms, and hardware design teams to understand pain points and deliver practical solutions.

Requirements: • Currently pursuing a B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (minimum 3 semesters remaining until graduation). • Strong programming skills in Python. • Comfortable writing scripts and working in CLI environments, Git, and Linux. • Highly analytical, self-driven, and eager to learn new technologies. • Strong teamwork and communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new domains. Advantages • Experience with CI/CD systems and test automation frameworks. • Familiarity with firmware verification, simulation, or hardware emulation platforms. • Hands-on experience debugging integrated hardware-software systems. • Basic knowledge of C or embedded systems. • Experience with databases, dashboards, or web-based reporting tools. • Experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Amazon CodeWhisperer, or similar). • Background in workflow automation or scripting for developer productivity.
