System Engineering Team Lead

About the Role

The Defense Systems Division within the Missiles & Space Group is seeking a System Engineering Team Lead to lead the systems engineering activities for large-scale naval defense programs.

In this role, you will lead a team of Systems Engineers responsible for defining, integrating, and validating advanced System of Systems (SoS) solutions for complex naval defense platforms. You will combine technical leadership, people management, and hands-on systems engineering while working on some of the most advanced defense technologies in the world.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, manage, and validate system requirements and system-level verification activities for advanced naval defense System of Systems (SoS) programs.

• Manage engineering work plans, prioritize tasks, mitigate risks, and ensure project milestones are achieved.

• Perform complex system simulations and performance analysis.

• Lead and manage a team of Systems Engineers, including recruitment, mentoring, professional development, and day-to-day leadership.

• Lead system-level integration and laboratory testing activities.

• Prepare technical documentation and presentations for engineering design reviews.

• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams and subcontractors.

• Lead the Systems Engineering team's preparation for complex field trials and participate in missile interception tests abroad.

• Conduct system investigations and provide real-time technical solutions during development and testing.

Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or another relevant engineering discipline – required.

• At least 4–5 years of experience as a Systems Engineer working on complex systems, preferably in the defense, missile, or air defense industries – required.

• Proven experience leading engineering projects, requirements management, system analysis, and integration – required.

• Excellent English communication skills, including speaking, writing, and presentations – required.

• Previous experience managing or leading Systems Engineers or matrix engineering teams – advantage.

• Experience with air defense systems, System of Systems (SoS) architectures, and field/interception trials – advantage.

• M.Sc. in Systems Engineering, Management, or another relevant technical discipline – advantage.
