- 4+ years of professional experience writing production-grade, high-performance C and C++ in a deployment environment
- Deep Expertise in Optics & Computer Vision (OpenCV, filtering, feature extraction, geometry, deep learning-based perception, lens selection, sensor calibration, exposure control, ISP pipelines)
- Real-Time Embedded CV Systems implementation on resource-constrained hardware
- Multi-Modal Sensor Mastery (EO/IR, thermal, LiDAR, RADAR, environmental sensors)
- Low-Latency Architecture and digital protocols for zero-copy data transfer
- Hands-on experience with BLDC motors, motor drivers, encoders, and power management
- Experience with message-passing frameworks like ZMQ, ROS/ROS2, MQTT, or custom IPC protocols
- Military background, particularly in combat, special operations, or technical technological units (e.g., 81, 8200, Yiftach, Talpiot)

Location: Beit Yohushua, Israel (On-site / Field-heavy)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Macushla is an Israeli hard-tech company developing advanced, field-proven robotics for the defense industry. We design and build specialized ground robots and remote-controlled weapon systems trusted by special ops teams across the Israeli military and beyond.
We don't do theoretical R&D or endless simulation loops. Come work with us if you have real skills, a bias for action, and want to ship real robots daily.
What You’ll Do
As a Robotics & Perception Engineer, you will operate on the pipeline that gives our tactical systems their sight, intelligence, and reflexes. You will bridge the gap between heavy-duty hardware and bleeding-edge software, building on a broad range of engineering domains:
• Embedded Computer Vision & Perception: Design, implement, and optimize real-time CV algorithms for target tracking, threat detection, and situational awareness.
• GPU-Accelerated Processing: Architect low-latency pipelines for multi-sensor streams (EO/IR cameras, LiDAR, Radar) using CUDA, TensorRT, or Jetson platforms.
• Robotics Control & Autonomy: Develop and tune robust control loops, state estimation, and sensor fusion algorithms for precise remote operation and autonomous navigation.
• Deploy & Iterate: Move fast from writing code to watching it drive hardware. You will own your features from architectural design to battlefield deployment.
What We’re Looking For
• Extremely Hands-On Approach: You will get dirty regularly. This isn't a desk job. You will actively lead, debug, and participate in intensive field testing of system features alongside operators.
• Deep System Intuition: You possess a natural, deep intuition for physics and digital systems. You can instinctively trace exactly what happens in the milliseconds between a photon hitting a robot's camera lens to a photon from an RTSP stream display hitting the operator's cornea.
• First-Principles Problem Solver: You understand data flow architectures, digital protocols, and how bottlenecks form at the hardware/software intersection.
Technical Requirements
• 4+ years of professional experience writing production-grade, high-performance C and C++ in a deployment environment.
• Deep Expertise in Optics & Computer Vision: Traditional CV (OpenCV, filtering, feature extraction, geometry) and modern deep learning-based perception. Strong understanding of lens selection, sensor calibration, exposure control, and ISP (Image Signal Processor) pipelines.
• Real-Time Embedded CV Systems: Proven experience implementing vision algorithms on resource-constrained hardware where determinism, memory footprint, and thermal limits matter.
• Multi-Modal Sensor Mastery: Practical knowledge of a wide range of sensor classes, including optical (EO/IR, thermal), LiDAR, RADAR, and environmental sensors. You understand their physics, failure modes, and how to wield their raw data streams.
• Low-Latency Architecture: Strong knowledge of digital protocols and architectures designed for zero-copy data transfer and low-overhead streaming.
• Linux Expertise: Solid understanding of Linux environments and real-time system programming (threading, synchronization, memory management).
• Scripting & Tooling: Strong proficiency in Python and Bash for rapid prototyping, data analysis, and automation.
Nice to Have
• Hardware Integration: Practical, hands-on experience with BLDC motors, motor drivers, encoders, and power management.
• Middleware: Experience working with message-passing frameworks like ZMQ, ROS/ROS2, MQTT, or custom IPC protocols.
• Tactical Experience: Military background, particularly in combat, special operations, or technical technological units (e.g., 81, 8200, Yiftach, Talpiot, etc.), giving you a deep empathy for the end-user.
