Here's the portal you'd inherit.
Real one. Anonymized. This is what walked in the door last quarter:
• 41 deal stages across 6 pipelines. Nobody in the company can explain what 3 of them mean.
• Lifecycle stage is written by 9 different workflows. Two of them overwrite each other. The MQL number has been wrong for 14 months and everyone quietly stopped trusting it.
• ~2,800 duplicate contacts, because an enrichment import ran twice and nobody built a dedup key.
• The board deck pulls from a dashboard that two people maintain by hand, in a Google Sheet, every Sunday night.
If your first reaction was "oh no", thanks for reading. This isn't the job.
If your first reaction was "hold on, which of those two workflows wins the race?", hi. Keep going.
What this actually is
We're Avero, a GTM Engineering agency and HubSpot Solutions Partner. We work with a portfolio of B2B SaaS companies, and we don't deliver recommendations. We deliver working systems.
Our whole thesis is that GTM operations should be engineered, not configured. Most HubSpot portals are configured: someone clicked things until the demo worked. We come in and build the data model, the automation layer, and the reporting that survives contact with a real sales team.
You'd own that. Portal to portal, client to client.
What you'd do in your first 90 days
• Take over 2–3 client portals and actually understand them — not the org chart version, the real one
• Rebuild a lifecycle model that doesn't lie
• Ship workflows, properties, pipelines, scoring and dashboards that someone will still trust in a year
• Wire HubSpot into whatever else the client runs Make.com, Clay, product data, billing, Slack
• Sit in front of a VP Sales and explain why their conversion report was fiction, without making it sound like an accusation
• Write it all down so the client can live with it after you leave the room
What we're not looking for
• Certification collectors. We don't care how many badges you have. We care what you've built.
• People who need a ticket to start working. Small team. You'll often be the one who decides what's broken.
• "Strategic advisors." We're builders. If you haven't been inside a workflow this month, this will be uncomfortable.
What we actually need
You've been hands-on in HubSpot for a couple of years, Sales Hub, Marketing Hub, ideally Ops Hub. You've built from zero, not just maintained someone else's mess. You think in data models, not screens. You're dangerous with an automation tool (Make, n8n, Zapier,Claude Code, Gemini) and you're not scared of an API doc.
You work in English with clients daily. And you use AI the way we do as a power tool, not a party trick.
The honest part
Ten clients means ten context switches. Some weeks you'll fix something beautiful and nobody will notice, because a system working correctly is invisible. You'll document more than you'd like. We're small, so there's no one to hide behind — which is either the best or the worst sentence in this ad, depending on who you are.
