Applied AI Engineer

Varolio turns traditional businesses into AI-native organizations. Our platform transforms messy operational data into a live model that drives fully automated AI delivery, from uncovering hidden bottlenecks to building and deploying tailored solutions.

We’re looking for an Applied AI Engineer with strong full-stack experience and product judgment to own the end-to-end delivery of a line of AI solutions - from shaping and scoping features to development, deployment, and continuous improvement.

You’ll turn real customer workflows into focused AI features and solutions that people can use, learn from, and improve quickly.

**What you’ll own**

• Product direction: Shape priorities, scope features, and make product decisions for a line of AI solutions.

• Full-stack development: Build interfaces, backend services, integrations, and AI agents.

• Production delivery: Own releases, evaluations, reliability, performance, and user experience.

• Platform capabilities: Identify patterns across solutions and work with Platform to turn the right ones into reusable components and shared product features.

• Product improvement: Use adoption, feedback, and results to guide what gets built next.

**What you bring**

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including shipping full-stack applications to production.

• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript or Python skills, with experience in APIs, databases, and integrations.

• Hands-on experience building LLM applications and agent workflows.

• Experience evaluating and improving AI quality, including tool use and structured outputs.

• Strong product judgment and experience taking features or products from idea to launch.

• Ability to turn open-ended needs into clear priorities and working software.

You’ll work directly with the founding team and help shape the product, technology choices, and engineering practices.

We are a small, ambitious team building from the ground up. There is no playbook here. You’ll have both the space and the responsibility to shape how real customer workflows become useful AI products.
