C++ Software Engineer

The Eyeviation Mission - Eyeviation is an AI-driven startup revolutionizing elite training through "Human-Aware" technologyת combining XR, biosensors, and cognitive analytics to decode human performance in real time across defense, law enforcement, and commercial aviation markets.

Our platform, IPASS, integrates real-time simulation, XR, eye tracking, physical flight controls, data collection, and intelligent training and assessment capabilities into a single integrated platform. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys working close to the product, solving complex technical problems, and seeing software interact with real simulators, sensors, and hardware.

The Role:

You will become part of the core engineering team responsible for IPASS and will have significant influence over how the system evolves. The role involves both new development and system-level engineering. One day you may be implementing a new simulator capability, another integrating an eye tracker or XR headset, debugging real-time communication between processes, or working with the team to design the architecture for the next generation of the platform. We are looking for an engineer who wants to understand the entire system, not just their individual piece of code.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain software components for the IPASS platform.

• Develop primarily in modern C++ for Windows-based real-time systems.

• Integrate with flight simulators and simulator SDKs.

• Develop interfaces between The platfrom and external systems, sensors, and hardware.

• Work with XR/VR systems, eye tracking, joysticks, throttles, and other simulator peripherals.

• Develop and maintain real-time communication and data-flow components between different parts of the system.

• Implement simulator features, training logic, scenarios, and supporting infrastructure.

• Collect, process, and expose simulator and trainee data for analysis and evaluation.

• Debug complex issues involving software, simulator behavior, hardware, networking, and system integration.

• Participate in architectural and technical design decisions.

• Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-quality code.

• Work closely with the product, data, research, QA, and simulation teams to turn operational requirements into working capabilities.

• Take ownership of features from initial design through implementation, integration, testing, and deployment.

What We’re Looking For:

Must Have

• B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field.

• Strong software engineering fundamentals.

• 3-5 Years Experience developing in C++.

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, memory management, and multithreading.

• Experience developing software on Windows.

• Ability to understand and work with an existing large codebase.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to independently investigate unfamiliar systems and APIs.

• Experience working with Git and modern software development workflows.

• Ability to take ownership and drive tasks from problem definition to a working solution.

Advantage

Experience in one or more of the following is a strong advantage:

• Flight simulators or simulation systems.

• Simulator SDKs such as Prepar3D, VBS, X-Plane, or similar platforms.

• Unreal Engine or Unity.

• VR/XR/MR development.

• Varjo or other professional XR headsets.

• Eye-tracking systems such as Tobii or Varjo Eye Tracking.

• Computer graphics technologies such as DirectX, OpenGL, or Vulkan.

• Hardware and sensor integration.

• Aviation or flight-training systems.

Who You Are

• Enjoys building real systems rather than working only on isolated software components.

• Is comfortable moving between application code, simulator APIs, networking, hardware, and debugging.

• Is curious and willing to learn technologies outside their immediate area of expertise.

• Can work independently while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.

• Pays attention to software quality but also understands the importance of delivering working capabilities.

• Likes taking ownership and seeing a feature all the way from an idea to something being used in the simulator.

You've got it? Please apply.
