Back End Team Lead

Exciting opportunity to join a growing startup building an advanced AI-powered SaaS platform, combining modern Backend technologies, LLMs, and AI Agents to deliver innovative solutions for the business market.

We are looking for a Backend Team Lead who enjoys the combination of technical leadership, people management, and hands-on development — leading a global team, driving architecture and building scalable production systems in a dynamic startup environment.

📍 Tel Aviv District | Hybrid model | Accessible location near train station

The role combines:

• Leading and mentoring a global, multicultural Backend team

• Building effective remote collaboration practices and team processes

• Driving backend architecture, design decisions, and engineering standards

• Leading end-to-end development — from requirements and design through production

• Staying hands-on with complex backend systems and production environments

• Working closely with Product, AI, and Data teams

• Leading technical discussions in English with global stakeholders

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience as a Backend Team Lead / Tech Lead / Engineering Manager with hands-on responsibility

• 5+ years of Backend development experience

• Strong Python Backend experience – must

• Experience managing remote global development teams in multicultural environments – must

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and engagement remotely

• Excellent English communication skills

• Experience designing and building complex Production systems

• Strong understanding of architecture, system design, and scalable solutions

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB or similar)

• Experience with FastAPI / Pydantic / Alembic – a strong advantage

• A hands-on mindset with strong ownership and ability to thrive in a startup environment
