Cables & Wiring Engineer

Orbit Communication Systems is seeking a highly skilled Cables & Wiring Engineer to design and implement advanced wiring solutions for our communication systems. This role requires a meticulous professional with extensive knowledge in cable engineering and a passion for innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop cable and wiring systems for communication equipment.

• Conduct simulations and testing to ensure system integrity and performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate wiring solutions into products.

• Analyze and troubleshoot issues in existing wiring systems.

• Prepare technical documentation and specifications for wiring designs.

Responsibilites:

• Review, release, and maintain cable and harness documentation, including drawings, BOMs, wiring data, connector lists, assembly instructions, and inspection requirements.

• Provide technical support to production, integration teams, subcontractors, and suppliers during manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, and acceptance activities.

• Review drawings and production documentation for completeness, manufacturability, testability, and alignment with approved engineering data.

• Support supplier clarifications, production feedback, alternative component reviews, FAI activities, and implementation of approved engineering changes.

• Investigate and resolve nonconformities, supplier deviations, production issues, and field findings related to cables, connectors, shielding, grounding, routing, labeling, and workmanship.

• Work closely with engineering, quality, procurement, production, suppliers, and configuration management to ensure timely and compliant delivery.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cable and wiring engineering.

• Proficient in CAD software and electrical design tools.

• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
