Cancer Researcher

Our Lab We study the cancer cells that survive chemotherapy and lead to relapse, which we term persister cells. We focus on high-risk neuroblastoma, a pediatric tumor with 50% mortality rates, and seek novel immunotherapies to prevent relapse.

Dr. Liron Grossmann is a physician-scientist at the pediatric Hematology-Oncology Department at the Edmond and Lily Safra Children’s Hospital, Sheba Medical Center, an Assistant Professor at the Life Science Faculty at Bar Ilan University and a visiting scientist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a cancer researcher at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer. The cancer researchee will be responsible for conducting scientific research and experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, and presenting findings. They will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in Israel, USA and Germany and contribute to scientific publications and grant proposals. The researcher will also participate in professional development activities and stay updated with the latest advancements in their field of study.

Qualifications

• PhD in life science with focus on cancer molecular biology and/or immunology

• Human cell culture

• Flow cytometry

• Gene knockdown and knockout assay

• RNA and protein assays

• High organizational skills

• High communication skills
