COBOL developer

We are looking for a COBOL Developer to take part in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mission-critical core financial systems in an IBM Mainframe environment.

What You'll Do:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance core financial systems using COBOL in an IBM Mainframe environment.

• Write and modify code, perform testing, troubleshoot production issues, and conduct root cause analysis.

• Work with existing complex code and business processes while independently learning system flows and dependencies.

• Collaborate closely with System Analysts, QA teams, and multiple technical interfaces across the organization and with external partners.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience developing in COBOL in a Mainframe environment - Must

• Strong knowledge of DB2 and experience writing complex SQL queries - Must

• Practical Engineering diploma in Computer Engineering or a B.Sc. in Computer Science from a recognized institution - Must

• Ability to independently learn and understand existing code and complex processes - Must

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders - Must

• Previous experience in a financial or banking organization - Advantage

• Experience developing Online 3270 screens - Advantage

• Experience working with CICS - Advantage

• Experience writing JCL and working with files in a Mainframe environment - Advantage

• Familiarity with Control-M or other scheduling tools - Advantage
