We're looking for a Configuration Management & NPI Engineer to own the integrity and manufacturability of our hardware products from prototype to mass production. You'll manage HW configuration, lead NPI with contract manufacturers, and support board quality through verification and testing. This hands-on role sits at the intersection of R&D, operations, and manufacturing, keeping our hardware baseline accurate, builds on track, and products reliable.
Who are we?
Elsight builds the technology that keeps autonomous systems connected and mission-ready—anywhere, across air, land, and maritime domains. Our Halo platform is already field-proven across more than 500,000 operational hours and trusted by 80+ customers worldwide, from defense forces to commercial operators. We took a bold idea and turned it into a proven public company (ASX: ELS) at the forefront of the autonomy revolution. With 10x year-over-year revenue growth and rapid global expansion, we're scaling fast—and we're just getting started. Join us to work on hard, meaningful problems alongside people who care about getting them right, and to help shape one of the defining technology shifts of the decade.
You will…
You will contribute across three connected areas: configuration management, new product introduction, and hardware quality & verification:
Configuration Management
• Own the HW configuration management process: BOMs, part numbering, revisions, and product structures in the PLM/ERP system.
• Create, manage, and release ECOs/ECNs/ECRs; drive change review boards and ensure changes are documented, approved, and communicated to manufacturing.
• Maintain traceability across board versions, firmware/HW compatibility, and approved vendor/manufacturer lists (AVL/AML).
• Control released engineering documentation (schematics, assembly drawings, fab drawings, test specs) and enforce revision integrity.
NPI (New Product Introduction)
• Lead HW products from prototype through to mass production, coordinating between R&D and manufacturing.
• Manage relationships with contract manufacturers (CMs/EMS) and component suppliers: RFQs, quotes, build packages, and production readiness.
• Own prototype and pilot builds — kitting, DFM/DFT feedback, first-article inspection, and issue resolution.
• Drive NPI schedules, build plans, and readiness gates; track open issues to closure.
Hardware Quality & Verification
• Define and execute verification/validation plans for new and revised boards (bring-up, functional, environmental as needed).
• Develop and maintain automated test setups (ICT/functional test/end-of-line) with R&D and test engineering.
• Analyze test data and field/production failures; drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions (RMA, 8D/CAPA).
• Support production ramp: yield monitoring, process improvements, and quality metrics.
