Core Banking Systems Analyst

We are looking for a Core Banking Systems Analyst, working on complex, business-critical core systems in an IBM Mainframe and COBOL environment. The role combines business and systems analysis, technical specifications, and end-to-end ownership from requirements gathering through development, testing, implementation, and production.

What You'll Do:

• Gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications (HLD / DLD).

• Analyze existing systems and processes and identify gaps against business needs.

• Work closely with COBOL/Mainframe developers, QA teams, business stakeholders, and additional interfaces.

• Support development, testing, implementation, and production deployment throughout the project lifecycle.

• Work with DB2 and SQL Server databases.

• Manage and track work plans, timelines, milestones, and dependencies.

• Support system availability and business continuity in a mission-critical environment.

• Work in a complex, matrix-based environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst working with COBOL-based core systems in a Mainframe environment - Must

• Experience working directly with COBOL/Mainframe development teams - Must

• Experience in the banking or financial sector - Must

• Familiarity with IBM Mainframe and COBOL - Must

• Knowledge of DB2 and SQL Server - Must

• Experience gathering business requirements and writing detailed technical specifications (HLD / DLD) - Must

• Relevant academic degree, practical engineering diploma, or professional training in Information Systems / Systems Analysis - Must

• Strong system-level understanding and experience working with complex, large-scale systems - Must

• Experience with MASAV (Israeli Automated Clearing House), account management, or customer management systems - Advantages
