Laboratory Engineer – Teaching & Research Laboratories (Health Sciences Faculty)

oin the Health Sciences Faculty at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev as a Laboratory Engineer and play a key role in supporting teaching and research laboratories through hands-on laboratory operations, scientific equipment management, and student support.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and scientific instrumentation.

• Prepare equipment, materials, reagents, and solutions for teaching and research laboratories.

• Support laboratory courses and assist students in operating laboratory equipment and conducting experiments.

• Handle and preserve live microorganisms and participate in laboratory work involving animals.

• Manage procurement of laboratory supplies and monitor deliveries.

• Maintain laboratory inventory, equipment, and materials.

• Initiate, develop, and implement new laboratory work methods and procedures.

• Provide ongoing laboratory services and technical support as required.

• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety regulations and procedures.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, or Biotechnology Engineering.

• At least 3 years of relevant professional experience.

• Experience operating scientific laboratory equipment.

• Training or instructional experience – an advantage.
